Coal is a Christmas-exclusive currency obtainable from clearing 
Christmas Fiasco quests and also obtainable as an item from 
Presents (Christmas).
Using Coal, you'll be able to trade for items in the Christmas Event Shop, located in Episode 1's Shop category.
Uses
- Main article: Christmas Event Shop
In the Christmas Event Shop, the Hunter will:
- exchange 8 Coal for a Common Present (Christmas), the kind that drops on Normal/Hard/VeryHard difficulties, or
- exchange 40 coal for an Ultimate difficulty Present (Christmas).
Availability
Aside from possibly obtaining them in Presents (Christmas), the Coal rates from Fiasco clears during Christmas Events are as follows:

Note: Episode 4's Christmas Fiasco normally gives 4 coal for an Ultimate clear, and unintentionally rewards 6 coal during the Christmas 2021 Event.
Trivia
Coal does not exist in normal gameplay, as they and their feature as a Christmas-exclusive currency are unique to Ephinea, added in an update on Dec 8, 2017.
