Editing Tools

Consumable tools are items that can be used from the inventory, primarily (but not exclusively) to restore [[HP]], [[TP]], or cure [[Status effects|status effects]]. All of these tools are available for purchase at all time from the Tool Shop on Pioneer 2.

Grinders are tools that can be used from the inventory to increase a [[Weapons|weapon's]] [[Weapons#Grind|grind]] value by the specified amount, increasing its [[ATP]] by 2 points for every point of grind.

Enemy parts are rare tools that can be found as rare drops from their respective [[enemies]] on certain [[Section ID|section IDs]]. They cannot be used from the inventory, and can only be converted into the corresponding item by giving them to Dr. Montague in the [[Quests|quests]] {{Quest link|Dr. Osto's Research}} or {{Quest link|Unsealed Door}}, but only after completing the quest {{Quest link|Doc's Secret Plan}}.

Combination items are rare tools that are used to create other items. Combination items are used from the inventory, but only when an applicable item is equipped, and when any other required conditions (e.g. level, weapon grind, character class, etc.) are also satisfied.  

If two compatible combination items are equipped at the same time (e.g. {{Frame|rare|Spirit Garment}} and {{Shield|rare|Invisible Guard}} when trying to use {{Tool|rare|Magic Rock "Heart Key"}}), no combinations may be performed until only one combination is possible.

Ring paints are special Ephinea-exclusive combination tools that will change the color of the rare shield {{Shield|rare|Red Ring}}. Using a {{Tool|rare|Red Paint}} will restore the ring to its original look, but will not give you the ring paint back. Ring paints can only be acquired from specific events, but Red Paint is available at any time from the quests {{Quest link|Seasons Shop}} and {{Quest link|The Forge}}.

Ring platings, like ring paints, are Ephinea-exclusive combination tools that can be used to change the appearance of the rare shield {{Shield|rare|Red Ring}}. Unlike ring paints, which retain the ring model but change the color, ring platings change the Red Ring's appearance entirely to that of another rare shield. They are obtained exclusively from the quest {{Quest link|The Forge}}.

Photon tools, despite all including the word "photon" in their name and being grouped together here, are a variety of items that serve different purposes.

Team point tools are items which can be purchased from the Information Counter in the Visual Lobby under the "Team" option. Team point tools cost the corresponding amount of [[Team#Team points|team points]] to purchase, and the tool is placed directly into the character's inventory. They can then be used via the "Point Register" function to convert into the appropriate amount of team points, or traded to other players for them to do the same.
