During the Anniversary event, all monster kills that occur in Ultimate difficulty, regardless of whether or not a quest is chosen, are tallied up and added to a cumulative kill counter that unlock boosts as the number of total kills for the server increases. These milestone rewards apply server-wide, and are not restricted to event-exclusive quests.

Milestone rewards include standard boosts, such as those to experience, rare enemy, or [[Item drops#Drop rate boosts|drop]] rates, as well increased {{Meseta}} drops, or specific increases to the drop rates of {{Tool|rare|Photon Drop|Photon Drops}} or the Anniversary Badges (see below). 

Milestone reward progression can be viewed on a subpage of the official [https://ephinea.pioneer2.net/ Ephinea] website that becomes available at the start of each Anniversary event. Players can see their own individual kill counters by entering the {{Quest link|Anniversary Badge Shop}} and speaking to the Guide NPC located in the [[Hunter's Guild]].<!--not sure that checking your kill totals with the guide is still correct-->
