Classic is a gameplay mode on Ephinea that is intended to offer a vanilla gameplay experience in line with official Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst prior to the creation of Episode 4. The gameplay mode is accessed by creating a new character on a normal account and joining a game on the US/Devaloka ship.

Characters that have joined a game on the Devaloka ship will be permanently flagged as Classic characters and are unable to join games on any other ship, and vice versa. This is to prevent the trading of items between normal mode and classic mode.

Key features and restrictions

• Exclusion of Episode 4 entirely, including all items originally exclusive to Episode 4
• Unique drop table matching the original rates for Episodes 1 and 2, which can be found on the official Ephinea website here
• All rates are default and cannot be boosted in any way
  • This includes the Rare Drop Rate, the Drop Anything Rate, and the rate at which Rare Monsters appear
