{{Unit|rare|Smartlink}} is a rare [[Units|unit]] that functions in a more complicated way than its description implies, as it does not grant any [[ATA]] on equip. Smartlink removes an accuracy penalty that Hunters and Forces incur when using ranged attacks from greater distance (including [[Slicers]] and [[Cards]]). Notably, this accuracy penalty is ''not'' an ATA penalty, but rather a direct subtraction from the hit chance, which comes ''after'' the ATA vs. [[EVP]] calculation. The accuracy penalty without Smartlink equipped is 0.33 per unit of distance. Rangers lack this penalty as a trait inherent to their class, and thus do not need (nor can they equip) this unit.

This unit is considered a staple for all Hunters and Forces who use any ranged weapon, as without this unit, they will miss more attacks with ranged weapons from their maximum distances.
