Freeze (status)
File:Frozen.pngFrozen is a status effect in PSO. It can be applied by:
- a freeze trap,
- casting Gibarta or Rabarta,
- a special attack from a Blizzard-series weapon,
- a Deldepth's or Gol Dragon's projectile attack,
- a breath attack from Sil Dragon or Gol Dragon,
- Epsilon's blue shield attack,
- a Crimson Assassin's spit attack
Frozen Shooter and Snow Queen will also randomly freeze the player if equipped for too long.
Mechanics
Frozen, confusion, shock, and slow cannot affect the same player or monster at the same time; if a player or monster is inflicted with any of these statuses, they will lose any others they have.
Players
Players will be frozen for 5 seconds, but they can end the effect earlier by having Anti level 7 cast on them or by repeatedly moving left and right to break out early. Being frozen prevents players from moving, attacking, casting techniques, or using items. Players with a Cure/Freeze equipped are immune to being frozen.
Monsters
Monsters will be frozen for 5 seconds, and the effect cannot have its timer reset by reapplying it midway through the duration. Being frozen prevents monsters from moving or attacking. Epsilon, Zu, Pazuzu, Dorphon, Dorphon Eclair, Girtablulu, and all bosses are immune to being frozen. Frozen monsters' EVP is reduced by 30%.
Special attacks
Players and monsters can be frozen using the special attack from a Blizzard-series weapon. Provided the attack connects, each special has a different chance of success:
Rarity | Special name | Activation rate |
---|---|---|
1★ | Ice | 32% |
2★ | Frost | 48% |
3★ | Freeze | 64% |
4★ | Blizzard | 80% |
Frozen Shooter and Snow Queen have special mechanics with freezing targets; if the projectile from their special attack connects, it has a 100% chance to freeze any non-immune enemy.
