Confusion or confuse is a status effect in PSO. It can be inflicted by:
- a special attack from a Chaos-series weapon
- confuse traps
- Dark Belra's ranged attack
- Dark Bridge randomly inflicts status conditions on its wielder, including confusion
Mechanics
Frozen, confusion, shock, and slow cannot affect the same player or monster at the same time; if a player or monster is inflicted with any of these statuses, they will lose any others they have.
Players
Players inflicted with confusion will move and attack in random directions at short intervals. It can be cured with a Sol Atomizer or with Anti level 4 or greater. An equipped Cure/Confuse unit will prevent players from becoming confused.
Monsters
Confusion will cause monsters to attack the nearest target to them. This can include players as well as other monsters. Confusion is very effective against large groups of monsters as they will turn on each other. This effectively deals free bonus damage to the group, but also frees up some or all of the group from attacking you.
Bosses are immune to confusion.
