Monkey King Bar is the precursor to the upgraded Black King Bar.

This weapon becomes Black King Bar if used with a Blue-black Stone. The attributes from the Monkey King Bar will transfer to the resulting Black King Bar.

Quest Reward

Monkey King Bar is available from the quest Black Paper's Dangerous Deal upon completion of the Zu route on normal difficulty.

Trivia

  • This weapon is a reference to Ruyi Jingu Bang, a magical staff wielded by Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King.
  • Monkey King Bar appears in later Phantasy Star titles as a weapon called 'Nyoibo', a transliteration of its Japanese name.
