Party

A party is a group of up to four players working together in PSO. A party can be established by anyone in the lobby by selecting the "Organize Party > Create a Party" option at the lobby counter.
Party options[edit | edit source]
- Party Name is the name that will appear in the list of parties when others are viewing it. This is useful for attracting players to desired quest, difficulty, and section ID combinations; for example, naming a party "TTF VH" would let prospective players know that the party was created for the purpose of playing Towards the Future on the Very Hard difficulty.
- Password, as the option name implies, allows a password to be specified. Only players who know the password can join the party. This is useful for private games between a pre-made group of players.
- Play Mode allows for the selection of any of PSO's default gameplay modes. Normal is the default option and the most commonly played, with no special qualifiers, as its name implies; Challenge is a separate game mode that tasks players with completing preset stages within a time limit and without dying; Battle is a player-versus-player game mode that allows for the selection of one of several rulesets for players to duel each other with; and One Person is similar to Normal, with reduced monster stats to accommodate for a lack of other players and the addition of several side story quests exclusive to it.
- Difficulty allows for difficulty selection. Normal difficulty can be played by anyone; the other three difficulties require certain levels to play, with Hard needing Lv20, Very Hard needing Lv40, and Ultimate needing Lv80.
- Set Drop Style allows for the selection of one of two options for item drops. Classic is the drop style used by previous versions of PSO, as well as the official Blue Burst servers, where one set of drops is shared by all players. PSO2, the default style, gives each player their own set of drops from monsters and boxes.
- Set Exp Share lets the party host choose to turn Exp Share ON or Exp Share OFF. Share ON is the default option; when it's selected, players within a radius of a slain monster will gain EXP from that enemy regardless of whether or not they attacked it. With Share OFF, PSO's default behavior is used instead; monsters must be hit with an attack or technique, including Jellen and Zalure, for them to give EXP to a player when killed. Note that with Share ON, boss monsters must still be tagged in order for them to give EXP.
- Set Anguish Lv. is an option exclusive to Ultimate difficulty. When set to anything other than OFF, it increases monsters' stats with each Anguish level, with meager gains in EXP and drops to compensate.
