Because the first PB value is greater than 130 (and killing with only 130 PB requires EVP values higher than the highest value HUcaseal can achieve), destroying the crystals with only a single use of Estlla on its own requires at least two other players who have at least 20 PB to donate to the blast. Having a second player also with 100 PB that chains another blast to Estlla removes this restriction. Strategy
Phase 1
It's advised for everyone to split up at the beginning before touching the egg. Side note the host can desync the game at random if they touch the egg, this will cause other players unable to see whole portion of Phase 1. Boss will spawn 3 spinners in a triangle formation on each player. To have the boss come out to break the tail's crystals you need to hit the spinners with colors on them. They spawn independently by themselves in random locations, and will randomly spawn different colors. Depending on which spinner you kill will dictate how long the tail will be held up for you to break the crystals, the order in which it'll stay up from shortest to longest: green, yellow, orange, and red.
Phase 2 (Cave portion)
At the start of Saint-Milion's second phase, it will fall into and subsequently appear in the eastern-most side cave of the large arena.
Normally, players would pursue Saint-Milion into the cave to continue dealing damage by attacking the crystals around its neck. After any crystal is broken, Saint-Milion will retreat from the side cave and return back to either the southwest or southeast of the larger arena. More damage can then be done to the neck crystals, and when another is broken, Saint-Milion will initiate its full-arena laser attack, where the camera angle shifts to a wider view showing the laser striking its egg.
Following this attack, Saint-Milion will once again retreat into another side cave (chosen randomly), and this process will repeat until Saint-Milion is killed by destroying the final neck crystal while it is positioned at the southeast of the larger arena.
Phase 2 can be sped up significantly, however, if all four neck crystals are damaged evenly to the point of destruction. When done correctly, all but one crystal will be destroyed, while the last remaining crystal will "reset" its HP to around the 2,500 HP mark. Saint-Milion will immediately proceed to the southeast of the large arena, and, once there, be able to be killed by destroying the last remaining crystal, ending the fight without having to chase it into any further side caves.
Damaging all four crystals evenly is best performed by having any one member of the party proceeding into the first side cave alone (and is thus recommended to be done by the player with the highest HP, level, or who is otherwise able to withstand Saint-Milion's attacks without support) and performing any of the following three strategies. Performing the strategy alone reduces the amount of spinners Saint-Milion will spawn to damage players in the side cave, and minimizes the risk of the crystals receiving uneven damage from multiple sources.
Techniques
Forces, especially FOnewm, can destroy Saint-Milion's neck crystals simultaneously by positioning themselves at the edge of the arena closest to Saint-Milion, offset slightly to the right of the center, and repeatedly casting
Rabarta to damage all four crystals. Equipment that boosts Rabarta's damage, such as
Psycho Wand,
Rabarta Merge, and
Congeal Cloak is highly recommended here.
This strategy requires careful positioning and timing, however, as some of Saint-Milion's attacks or animations (notably the roar preceeding its beam attack, and the recoil from its missile attack) will position the rearmost crystals out of range of the technique. If the player is turned around as a result of being struck by the missile attack, they must reorient themselves to face Saint-Milion to guarantee that the rearmost crystals continue to be damaged by Rabarta.
Divine Punishment
Rangers, especially RAmarl, can destroy Saint-Milion's neck crystals simultaneously by utilizing Divine Punishment, the unique special attack granted to the rare weapons
Heaven Punisher and
Mille Marteaux, as well as
Heaven Striker while a
Striker Unit is equipped, when the hundreds digit of the beat time is even (or regardless of beat time in the case of a Heaven Punisher that has been combined with a
Divine Filter). Repeated use of Divine Punishment will target and damage all four crystals evenly, potentially clearing this phase even quicker than Forces can.
While the positioning of using Divine Punishment is more lenient than that of the Rabarta stategy, the player performing this strategy should still be wary of their timing, as Divine Punishment has a small delay between when the attack button is pressed and when the special attack's lasers descend from the sky and connect with the target. If done improperly, it is still possible for the neck crystals to become invulnerable, or for the rear neck crystals to fall out of range of the special attack, resulting in uneven damage.
Estlla
With appropriate timing, the
Estlla photon blast can be used to quickly destroy all four of Saint-Milion's neck crystals in the cave portion of the fight simultaneously. The following EVP values are necessary to kill in a single use (these values assume maximum mag stats).
| PB | EVP |
|---|---|
| 140 | 1685 |
| 150 | 1560 |
| 160 | 1451 |
| 170 | 1355 |
| 180 | 1269 |
| 190 | 1193 |
| 200 | 1124 |
- Note: EVP values based on 0 MST. "PB" column indicates the required amount of Photon Blast gauge. Amounts greater than 100 are reached via other players donating or chaining.
Keep in mind that the player performing Estlla must still be the one to initiate the chain, and must still have the required EVP values for this strategy to work.
