DF Shield has a 25% chance of inflicting confusion, freeze, slow, and/or paralysis on the player if it remains equipped for five minutes. Being on Pioneer 2 will not stop the timer, though your status will not change as long as you remain there when it triggers. The timer will reset after reaching five minutes regardless. One can also reset the timer by switching to another barrier (or taking it off.)
