Smartlink is a rare unit that removes the accuracy penalty that Hunters and Forces incur when using ranged attacks (which includes Slicers and Cards).
The ranged accuracy penalty is a reduction to the chance to hit, which is subtracted from the final chance to hit. For example, if a player's chance to hit is 50%, and the ranged accuracy penalty is calculated at 30%, the final chance to hit will be 20%. Rangers lack this penalty as a trait inherent to their class, and thus do not need (nor can they equip) this unit.
