Strategy

Monests spawn Mothmants, which have quick jabbing attacks, but do very little damage and are fragile. Other than that they are completely stationary and have no attacks of their own. Monests take around 380 frames (over 12 seconds) after reaching zero HP to die for purposes of advancing the quest.

Melee

It is recommended to use a strong single-target weapon to quickly destroy the nest before it spawns extra Mothmants. If necessary, use a wide-range weapon such as Slicers or Swords to attack the nest and any Mothmants at the same time.

Ranged

Spread weapons, such as Shots or Needles, are ideal for controlling the Mothmants while doing damage to the nest.

Techniques

Monests can be defeated quickly on spawn by pre-emptive Gifoie stacks.
