Cane icon.pngMercurius Rod is a rare rod. It offers the highest weapon-based Grants.pngGrants boost in the game, and casts level 2 Gifoie.pngGifoie as its special attack.

Despite being weak in range and damage, Mercurius Rod's special attack is useful for multiple reasons:

  • Interrupting certain enemies' attacks (e.g. initial Dorphon/Delbiter charges, Zu dives, etc);
  • Splitting Pofuilly Slimes can easily be done by using the special attack as the 3rd attack of a combo, as the special attack will not deal enough damage to kill them too early.
  • It uses the special attack animation instead of a regular cast animation, and it is possible to perform a full combo of special attacks. This is significantly faster than casting Gifoie.pngGifoie in the normal way, especially with Unit icon.pngHeavenly/Battle or Unit icon.pngV101 equipped.

The origin of the special attack Gifoie.pngGifoie is the tip of the rod rather than the caster. Due to the weapon's size, the spell area will be several units out from the character, at different angles depending on the class animation and combo step.

The special attack Gifoie.pngGifoie is affected by relevant technique boosts, such as Shield icon.pngGifoie Merge and Class-based Boosts, but it can not have its technique level raised by Unit icon.pngHeavenly/Technique or other similar units.
