HUnewearl/Guide
HUnewearl is a newman Hunter. Of the four Hunters, she is the only one that has access to the Shifta and Deband techniques, along with access to level 20 of all other techniques, minus the Force-exclusive Grants, Megid, and Reverser. She is the most balanced of the four Hunters due to this, as her relatively mediocre stats can be overlooked due to her access to useful support techniques.
HUnewearl is suited as a beginner Hunter, as her access to level 20 Resta, Deband, and Jellen allows players to learn how to tackle various scenarios with low risk. Other techniques such as Gifoie, Rabarta, and Razonde also give her access to decent crowd control. While she is not as powerful as the other Hunters, she will always find a place in any situation.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Access to powerful Hunter weapons - weapons such as Dark Flow and Vjaya allow HUnewearl to do extremely high damage, albeit only in specific scenarios and with high costs
- Access to level 20 support techniques - HUnewearl can buff herself and her other party members, as well as provide potent healing during the early game and for Berserk usage
Cons
- Limited effective range - In comparison to Rangers and Forces, Hunters do not have as much area-of-effect range, meaning their effectiveness is lowered if not positioned correctly
- Low ATP - With only 1,237 maximum ATP, HUnewearl is very weak as a Hunter, and does not offer much to a party if another support character is present
- Bad stat growth - All newmans have very low base stats (except MST and EVP), making it difficult for them to equip certain items as they progress, and requiring more investment to reach their maximum stats
Section ID choice
Note that the section ID choices below are merely suggestions, and are not required choices for playing HUnewearl. All IDs have tangible benefits, leaving ID selection to player preference. Below are a few recommended IDs for HUnewearl depending on what type of item coverage is preferred.
Finding items for HUnewearl
Skyly
Skyly has access to many essential HUnewearl items and an increased rate of finding sword-type weapons, which is important in the early game and for finding Hit Caliburs later. Specific items include Daylight Scar, Sealed J-Sword, Red Ring, and Lame d'Argent.
Finding items that HUnewearl hunts well
Viridia
Hunters are potent boss killers, and Viridia is ideal for hunting bosses, as Red Ring and Parasitic Gene "Flow" are coveted drops which only drop from the bosses at the end of episode 1 and episode 2. L&K38 Combat is also an item that can be hunted while hunting bosses.
General good ID
Whitill
Whitill is a powerful ID that gets many coveted and valued items in almost every area in the game. Whitill is the most unrestrictive ID, giving players the freedom to play any content and still have the chance of scoring something big, in contrast to more restrictive IDs such as Bluefull, which focus players into certain areas. Whitill finds many good items such as V502, Heaven Striker, Diska of Braveman, Frozen Shooter, Slicer of Fanatic, and more!
Material and mag plans
Important Stats Only - Maxes important stats as early as possible. Recommended for levelling.
Min-Max - Maxes as many character specific stats as possible by level 200 using the minimum number of slot units. Recommended at level 200.
Min-Max (Allows Shield Swap) - Maxes out ATP, ATA, and LCK with just a mag and V101, allowing free usage of the shield slot while maintaining max LCK.
Max Stats - Attempts to max all stats at level 200. Ignores any sort of equipment efficiency. Not recommended.
With V101
Plan | Mag | Units | Barrier | Materials | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Power | Def | Mind | Evade | Luck | Unused | ||||
Important Stats Only (Clio at Lv. 195) | 5/95/100/0 | V101 | Red Ring | 122 | - | - | - | 28 | - |
Min-Max (Clio at Lv. 184) | 5/95/100/0 | V101 | Red Ring | 99 | - | 23 | - | 28 | - |
Min-Max (Allows Shield Swap) | 5/95/100/0 | V101 | - | 99 | 13 | - | - | 38 | - |
Max Stats | 5/178/17/0 | V101, Adept, Adept, Centurion/Ability | Red Ring | - | - | 104 | 40 | 3 | 3 |
Note that the Max Stats plan isn't recommended here; it forces HUnewearl to use all four of her unit slots, resulting in her being unable to use V501, V502, Smartlink, etc.
Without V101
These plans below are those which use Blue Odoshi Violet Nimaidou instead of V101. These are generally not recommended over using V101.
Plan | Mag | Units | Barrier | Materials | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Power | Def | Mind | Evade | Luck | Unused | ||||
Important Stats Only (Clio at Lv. 199) | 5/92/103/0 | - | Red Ring | 115 | - | - | - | 35 | - |
Min-Max (Clio at Lv. 196) | 5/92/103/0 | - | Red Ring | 109 | - | 6 | - | 35 | - |
HUnewearl has a Max Stats plan without V101, but it would still require four units, meaning there is no advantage to a Max Stats build with Blue Odoshi Violet Nimaidou.
