"Ledge dropping" refers to the use of specific weapon animations to glitch one's character's position in multi-level rooms of Seabed, moving from an upper floor to a lower floor by literally "dropping" down from the "ledge."

In many rooms where this is performed, it is specifically done to bypass obstacles that are designed to prevent the player from taking the side ramp to the bottom floor that would normally requiring taking an alternate route, such as a short ramped side hallway, or even multiple entire rooms, before wrapping back around to the lower level.

Ledge drops can be performed with a variety of specific weapon animations, but also by being hit by an enemy in the back.
