The below guide will advise on the best strategies for unsealing the four different sealed items:

Item Name Equippable By Kills Required Unseals Into
Sword icon.pngSealed J-Sword Hunters 23,000 Sword icon.pngTsumikiri J-Sword
Sword icon.pngLame d'Argent Any 10,000 Sword icon.pngExcalibur
Unit icon.pngLimiter Any 20,000 Unit icon.pngAdept
Unit icon.pngSwordsman Lore Hunters 20,000 Unit icon.pngProof of Sword-Saint

Techniques are advised for unsealing any item, as they are able to attack quickly across large ranges, meaning more kills in a shorter amount of time. Thus, the optimal strategies use characters which are able to use techniques.

Character and equipment

Lame d'Argent and Limiter

Limiter and Lame d'Argent are equippable by any class, so the use of a Force is advised for unsealing these items. Optimally, FOnewm is recommended, as his high MST and boosts to normal and hard techniques means he can kill multiple enemies faster than the other Forces.

Requirements

  • 800+ ATP to equip Lame d'Argent
  • Any frame with slots for unsealing Limiter

Recommended

Equipment

  • Weapon: Barehand (if male) or Cane icon.pngMagical Piece (if female)
    • If unsealing Lame d'Argent, Lame d'Argent must be equipped
  • Frame: Frame icon.pngIgnition Cloak
  • Barrier: Shield icon.pngGifoie Merge
  • Units: Unit icon.pngV801, any Mind units if not max MST
    • Multiple Limiters can be unsealed at one time--this is considered preferable over more MST or V801 if required
  • Mag: Any mag with as much MIND as possible

Sealed J-Sword and Swordsman Lore

Both Sealed J-Sword and Swordsman Lore can only be equipped by Hunters, and thus must be unsealed by them. The most viable choice for this is HUnewearl, as HUmar's MST and technique caps fall short of effective offensive technique use. Androids, naturally, cannot use techniques, and thus cannot unseal effectively.

Requirements

  • 800+ ATP for unsealing Sealed J-Sword
  • Any frame with slots for unsealing Swordsman Lore

Recommended

  • HUnewearl > HUmar
  • High level (16-20) Gifoie.pngGifoie (the higher the better)
  • As much MST as possible

Equipment

  • Weapon: Sword icon.pngRika's Claw
    • If unsealing Sealed J-Sword, Sealed J-Sword must be equipped
  • Frame: Any with slots
  • Barrier: Gifoie Merge
  • Units: V801, any Mind units if not max MST
    • Multiple Swordsman Lores can be unsealed at one time--this is considered preferable over more MST or V801 if required
  • Mag: Any mag with as much MIND as possible.

Quests

Both quests below should be played in Normal difficulty for fastest kill speed.

Beyond the Horizon

Quest icon.pngBeyond the Horizon is the optimal quest for unsealing items. Beyond the Horizon will net the player roughly 5,000 kills per hour, including remaking and the quest beginning. This quest requires very little attention, as Gifoie.pngGifoie can be used from the beginning of the quest until the end without moving.

  1. Begin the quest and talk to the guard outside the Hunters Guild to begin
  2. Move to the middle of the first area and use Gifoie.pngGifoie until clear
  3. Repeat for the second area (no movement is required at start)
  4. After the second area is cleared, use the /lobby chat command to return to the lobby

Repeating this process is 330 kills (and costs 10,000 meseta) per run, meaning each item will cost the following amount of meseta to unseal:

CAL's Clock Challenge

Quest icon.pngCAL's Clock Challenge, an Episode 2 extermination quest, can also be cleared with only Gifoie.pngGifoie and minimal movement. It does not cost an entry fee, begins immediately in the VR Temple, and allows enemies to drop items. Resetting after the second area (Spaceship) will net 226 kills per run. The process for CAL's Clock Challenge is the same as Beyond the Horizon (though some additional movement is required to force some Pan Arms to become vulnerable in Spaceship). Ignoring the Pan Arms results in 200 kills.
