Rare enemies are rolled again when starting a new lap in this quest.
This method involves running the Episode 1 Quest Endless Nightmare 4, where players defeat 26 Claws, which have weapons as their set drop. Along the way, several item boxes are destroyed, further increasing the chance of obtaining common weapons. Some of those item boxes are guaranteed to drop weapons, further boosting the likelihood of finding the desired drop.

Room Objectives
__TOC__
Each room of the quest has one of four objectives, chosen randomly for non-boss areas:
* Avoid taking damage.
* Avoid healing.
* Avoid death.
* Avoid losing meseta.
Time and points added per area is based on the number of penalties the party receives for the current objective.

Additionally, areas 5 and 15 each have a bonus objective on top of their typical objective, which is a task that awards additional points if completed successfully.
Strategy
The most efficient way to execute this hunt is by playing as either FOmar or FOnewm. Their innate Normal Technique boost enables them to quickly eliminate Claws with Gizonde (FOnewm may also use Razonde with his Hard Technique boost). diskTechnique damage can be further enhanced by equipping rare and rare (or rare). Male classes have the fastest casting animation when unarmed, allowing them to lock enemies in place.

Boss rooms each have their own static objective, which are the following:
A video guide can be found here. In the video, there are two instances at 0:34 & 1:00 where the Force casts Rafoie to destroy item boxes. n has a wide enough range to break item boxes across multiple rooms. However, since dropped items cannot be viewed from a distance, it is highly recommended to install the item reader addon. This addon displays all items dropped on the floor, ensuring no important drops are missed. A link to the installation can be found here. Another video guide can be found here, where the Razonde strategy on FOnewm is used instead.
* Dragon: Avoid taking damage.
* De Rol Le: Avoid healing.
* Vol Opt: Avoid losing meseta.
* Dark Falz: Avoid death.

A lap ends after 20 total areas, or 21 if Falz is reached. (Additional Area)
If an important item drops from the boxes destroyed at 1:00, the player must enter the room to the right at the end of the video. To retrieve the dropped items, the player can walk through the waterfall on the right.

Lap Completion
Boosts
After completion of a lap, one rank of a quest-wide penalty is applied for the rest of the run. These are applied in the following order:
The hunt can be significantly improved with drop rate boosts from Anguish, Weekly boosts, and when the quest is currently on the Ragol Boost Road rotation.
* Reduced invincibility (blessing) chance. (Max: 5 ranks)

* Room clear time decrease. (Max: 5 ranks)
The quest should be played when a weekly DAR boost is active, as this increases the likelihood of enemies dropping items at all. It should also be played on Anguish Level 3, as this further increases the chances of obtaining high-Hit common weapons from defeated enemies. Playing on Anguish improves drop rates in the following ways:
* Stricter penalties (Penalties reduce the room clear time award by additional amounts.) (Max: 4 ranks)
* Drop anything rate (DAR): +3%
* Extra time deduction per penalty (x additional seconds are deducted from the timer per penalty, x being the current lap number.) (Max: Infinite ranks)
* ID-specific common weapon rate: +2.53%
Quest Board
* Untekked common weapon rate: +3%
The Quest Board (Item Pack -> Quest Board) has some optional uses in this quest, allowing the player to:
* Increase to area pattern from
4 3 3
to
4 4 4

* Check their current points.
The pattern increase is the most significant boost, as it pushes the Ruins 1 area pattern to the best possible in the game. This increases the likelihood of finding common weapons with higher amounts of hit.
* Check the current room's objective.
: Note: the anguish boosts only apply to common weapons dropped from enemies. Item boxes are unaffected by any drop boosts, including the change in area patterns.
* Check the number of objective penalties for the current room.

* Check the current lap number.
Drop rates
Invincibility Blessing
{| class="wikitable floatright" style="clear: right; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; text-align:center;"
Each non-boss room has a 15% base chance (reduced by 3% per rank of the lap penalty) of granting invincibility to the party for a variable amount of time. The duration of this is based on how fast the previous room was cleared.

Additional Area
!Hit range
If the party manages to reach the end of a lap with a low amount of overall penalties (the exact limit is five times the number of party members; or three when solo), Dark Falz is given as an additional area. This area does not subtract from the timer, and gives a higher than usual amount of points for completion.

Coffee Side Quest
A side quest that awards additional points and meseta can be completed once per lap. A video with the necessary steps can be found here.

In a single reset, a total of 26 Claws, 18 item boxes, and 4 set weapon boxes are defeated and destroyed. Playing the quest on Anguish Level 3 during the weekly DAR boost yields an average of:
*3.27 common weapon drops from Claws
*5.8 common weapon drops from item boxes
The distinction between enemy and item boxes is crucial, as drop boosts only affect the 3.27 weapon drops from enemies. For more detail on how the item drop system works, see Item drops.

Revision as of 11:10, 14 July 2025

EN4 Claw reset refers to the most optimal strategy of efficiently hunting common weapons. It is most notably used for acquiring high-hit Sword icon.pngCaliburs.

This method involves running the Episode 1 Quest Quest icon.pngEndless Nightmare 4, where players defeat 26 Claws, which have weapons as their set drop. Along the way, several item boxes are destroyed, further increasing the chance of obtaining common weapons. Some of those item boxes are guaranteed to drop weapons, further boosting the likelihood of finding the desired drop.

Strategy

The most efficient way to execute this hunt is by playing as either FOmar or FOnewm. Their innate Normal Technique boost enables them to quickly eliminate Claws with Gizonde.pngGizonde (FOnewm may also use Razonde.pngRazonde with his Hard Technique boost). Disk icon.pngTechnique damage can be further enhanced by equipping Frame icon.pngTempest Cloak and Shield icon.pngGizonde Merge (or Shield icon.pngRazonde Merge). Male classes have the fastest casting animation when unarmed, allowing them to lock enemies in place.

A video guide can be found here. In the video, there are two instances at 0:34 & 1:00 where the Force casts Rafoie.pngRafoie to destroy item boxes. Rafoie.pngRafoie has a wide enough range to break item boxes across multiple rooms. However, since dropped items cannot be viewed from a distance, it is highly recommended to install the item reader addon. This addon displays all items dropped on the floor, ensuring no important drops are missed. A link to the installation can be found here. Another video guide can be found here, where the Razonde.pngRazonde strategy on FOnewm is used instead.

If an important item drops from the boxes destroyed at 1:00, the player must enter the room to the right at the end of the video. To retrieve the dropped items, the player can walk through the waterfall on the right.

Boosts

The hunt can be significantly improved with drop rate boosts from Anguish, Weekly boosts, and when the quest is currently on the Ragol Boost Road rotation.

The pattern increase is the most significant boost, as it pushes the Ruins 1 area pattern to the best possible in the game. This increases the likelihood of finding common weapons with higher amounts of hit.

Note: the anguish boosts only apply to common weapons dropped from enemies. Item boxes are unaffected by any drop boosts, including the change in area patterns.
