Lucky Coins are obtained by speaking to Nol in the questPhantasmal World series of quests (Phantasmal World #1, #2, #3, and #4), after clearing the quest and reporting to Natasha, but before turning the quest in at the Hunter's Guild. | |||

Gallon's Shop[edit | edit source]
To access Gallon's Shop, its minigames, and the Lucky Roulette, walk outside the Hunter's Guild where you load in to the outer Pioneer 2 hub and enter the left room between you and the bank/shop area. Talk to the Transport Service NPC (XZ: -120, 40) at the counter and select to be transported to Gallon's Shop.
Gallon will sell a number of items, as well as wrap certain items into a Present, for 10,000 Meseta each. Alternatively, Gallon offers these services with a payment of 30 "Gallon Points," which can be earned from the minigame terminals in the same room.
Gallon Points[edit | edit source]
|
Gallon Points are a currency available to the player either through interacting with the minigame terminals and performing adequately, or obtaining enough Guild Cards to earn them through the Guild Card Reader terminal next to them. They can be spent in the same quest by speaking with Gallon at his counter.
Gallon Points have a maximum amount of 1000 points, after which any more points earned are simply lost until some are spent.
Wrapping Presents[edit | edit source]
|
Most items, such as weapons, frames/armors and barriers/shields, can be wrapped. Some, such as consumables and units, cannot be wrapped. By default, Gallon will only offer one kind of wrapping paper. There are more...
If you have any presents of a different color than those you can wrap, showing them to a man looking at Ragol (XZ: 320, -165) outside the shop will unlock alternative wrapping paper.
Note: Your present will not be lost in the process.

Class Walls[edit | edit source]
|
If you have 300 or more Gallon Points, Gallon will offer a new option to "Buy a ???," which places a rare barrier, appropriate to your class, directly into your inventory. This new option is not available in Ephinea Classic Mode since the class walls were introduced in episode IV.
These barriers can be particularly useful to new characters who are just entering Very Hard as they require level 41 to equip and provide helpful stats along with moderate defenses.
Class | Barrier |
---|---|
Hunter | Hunter Wall |
Ranger | Ranger Wall |
Force | Force Wall |
Note: You can only buy a class wall once per character.
Ranger Wall in particular is considered the best barrier for Rangers (until they are able to equip Red Ring) for its +20 ATA boost, so it is highly recommended to obtain on every new Ranger.
Minigame Terminals[edit | edit source]
There are two terminals that offer mini-games, along with a Guild Card Reader terminal, which award "Gallon Points". These points can be exchanged to have an item wrapped up in a gift box or to earn prizes. The fourth terminal is the Lucky Roulette, detailed below.
Button-Mashing Game[edit | edit source]
This game involves mashing the action button as many times as possible in 10 seconds. You will be awarded a number of points based on your performance.
# of Button Presses | Reward |
---|---|
30 to 49 | 1 Gallon Point |
50 to 69 | 2 Gallon Points |
70 to 89 | 3 Gallon Points |
90 to 99 | 4 Gallon Points |
100 or more | 5 Gallon Points |
Timing Game[edit | edit source]
This game involves trying to perfectly time when 8 seconds has elapsed. The more precise your timing, the more points are awarded.
Reaction Difference | Reward |
---|---|
0.50 to 0.26 seconds | 1 Gallon Point |
0.25 to 0.11 seconds | 3 Gallon Points |
0.10 to 0.01 seconds | 5 Gallon Points |
0.00 seconds | 10 Gallon Points |
Guild Card Reader[edit | edit source]
By having a minimum number of Guild Cards in your possession, the Guild Card Reader will give you a number of Gallon Points matching that minimum number.
# of Guild Cards | Reward |
---|---|
10 to 29 | 10 Gallon Points |
30 to 49 | 30 Gallon Points |
50 to 99 | 50 Gallon Points |
100 or more | 100 Gallon Points |
Lucky Roulette[edit | edit source]
|
The fourth terminal inside Gallon's Shop allows the player to play the Lucky Roulette. One Lucky Coin is required for each play, and each play will result in a prize being placed into the character's inventory.
Lucky Coins[edit | edit source]
Lucky Coins are obtained by speaking to Nol in the Phantasmal World series of quests (Phantasmal World #1, #2, #3, and #4), after clearing the quest and reporting to Natasha, but before turning the quest in at the Hunter's Guild.
Lucky Coins are stored on a per-character basis, up to a maximum of 100. If a character has 100 Lucky Coins, quests will not reward the character any more until some are spent, bringing the character below the maximum.
The item received from the Lucky Roulette is dependent on the space that is landed on.

Paganini's exchange[edit | edit source]
By talking to Hopkins at a different part of Pioneer 2 (XZ: 90, -220) in this quest with at least one Photon Drop in the inventory, he will take you to Paganini, where you can exchange them either for one of a selection of items depending on the number of Photon Drops held, or for two other unlockable services he can offer.
Item Exchange[edit | edit source]
WARNING: Only carry the minimum amount of Photon Drops needed in your inventory, as Paganini will take all of them for the trade. You will be asked to confirm the exchange multiple times before it is finalized.
This exchange is notable for, among other things, the Photon Sphere that allows the player a more cost-effective and faster option of adding attributes to weapons, as a Photon Sphere adds 30% to a single attribute (as long as the attribute is 70% or less) instead of spending 100 Photon Drops to add only 25% to that attribute.

Adding specials to ES weapons[edit | edit source]
|
If the player brings Paganini the data from the top of the Control Tower during The East Tower, the "Modify ES Weapon" option will be available in Paganini's exchange in Gallon's Shop for the character that completes this sidequest (which can be completed on any difficulty). The East Tower
The "Modify ES Weapon" option allows the player to trade Photon Drops in exchange for adding a special attack to their ES weapon, with the available specials depending on the number of Photon Drops in the player's inventory and the ES Weapon in question.
Note that unlike Paganini's exchange, adding specials to ES weapons will only consume the indicated number of Photon Drops for the special added, rather than all Photon Drops carried in the inventory.

- * Note: HP Revival and TP Revival refer to passive recovery over time, similar to the HP/Revival and TP/Revival units.
The following restrictions apply to adding specials to ES Weapons:
- ES Knuckle cannot receive HP Revival or TP Revival
- ES Psychogun can only receive HP Revival or TP Revival
- ES Windmill can only receive HP Revival, TP Revival, Jellen, or Zalure
To unlock this option, follow these steps:
- Start the quest The East Tower
- Talk to Hopkins in the lab (he is down the ramp from the shops to the left in the corner - the same place you would find him in Gallon's Shop to access Paganini)
- Kill Epsilon on the top floor of the Control Tower, then interact with the terminal (you will receive a Quest Board item)
- Upon killing Epsilon, player teleporters (via Telepipe or Ryuker) can no longer be created, and any that are active will be turned off. The gate in the Lab leading to the Central Control Area will also become locked. If you use the provided teleporter before interacting with the terminal, you will be forced to redo the quest to complete the sidequest
- Return to the lab and talk to Hopkins before ending the quest
Note: Paganini will no longer be accessible in this quest for that character once you have done this, and Hopkins will only state that, "My father is working on a huge project right now.", which can serve as an alternative method of checking completion.
Adding attributes to weapons[edit | edit source]
|
If the player brings Paganini the data from the terminal in Seabed during The West Tower quest, the "Enhance weapon's Photon" option will be available in Paganini's exchange in Gallon's Shop for the character that completes this sidequest (which can be completed on any difficulty).
The "Enhance weapon's Photon" option allows the player to increase attribute percentages on their weapons in exchange for set amounts of Photon Drops, at the following rates:
Cost | Increase |
---|---|
Photon Drop x4 | +1% |
Photon Drop x20 | +5% |
Photon Sphere x1 | +30% |
- Note: The Photon Sphere option cannot be used if the attribute to be increased is higher than 70%.
The following restrictions apply to adding attributes:
- A weapon cannot have more than three attributes
- Sealed weapons and their unsealed counterparts may not have more than two, including Hit%
- Attributes cannot exceed 100%
- Hit% cannot be added to a weapon
- ES Weapons cannot have attributes
To unlock this option, a character must have already collected The East Tower data for Paganini (refer to adding specials to ES weapons for directions), then follow these steps:
- Start the quest The West Tower
- Talk to Hopkins in the lab (he is in the same place you would find him in Gallon's Shop to access Paganini)
- Traverse the Seabed Upper levels until you find and access the terminal containing the Research Data (you will receive a Quest Board item)
- Return to the lab and talk to Hopkins before ending the quest
Note: Unlike The East Tower, there is no easy way to check through Hopkins if you have already completed The West Tower sidequest, as Hopkins in Gallon's Shop will say the same "My father is working on a huge project right now." line, both before completing the previous sidequest as well as after completing this one.
Photon Hoard[edit | edit source]
|
- Main article: Photon Hoard
By speaking with a man wearing military garb (XZ: -110, 145) within the room next to the quest counter, one can convert 99 Photon Drops into a Photon Hoard, and vice versa.
The player must speak with him twice in a quest sitting, while also holding at least one of either a Photon Drop or Photon Hoard, in order to activate this feature.
Note: In order to break a Photon Hoard down into a stack of Photon Drops, you must not be carrying any Photon Drops beforehand.
Important NPC Coordinates[edit | edit source]
NPC | Coordinates (XZ) |
---|---|
Transport Service to Gallon's Shop | (-120, 40) |
Present NPC to unlock Wrapping Papers | (320, -165) |
Hopkins for access Paganini's room | (90, -220) |
NPC for assembling/disassembling Photon Hoards | (-110, 145) |
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Normally, one could only purchase a Class Wall by having between 300 and 310 Gallon Points. On Ephinea, however, it is possible to purchase one while having more than 310 points.
- Photon Hoards do not exist in normal gameplay, as they were added in an Ephinea update on June 16th, 2019.
